Innovative Approaches to Sustainability in Architecture Education
As a visiting lecturer at the University of Maryland, I had the privilege of teaching architecture students the principles of design thinking with a focus on sustainability. My course aimed to equip students with the skills to approach architectural challenges through a sustainability lens, emphasizing the importance of innovative problem-solving and user-centered design. Through lectures, hands-on workshops, and project-based learning, students explored how sustainable design can address environmental, social, and economic issues in the built environment. This experience not only broadened their understanding of sustainability in architecture but also encouraged them to become proactive agents of change in their future careers.
